I originally chose this tweet to design because it made me laugh. It was clever and fun. When I went about designing it, I wanted the color pallet to match that feeling, hence the brighter colors. I also didn’t want to distract too much from the actual tweet, so a simple Chinese take-out box in the background was one of the first things that popped into my head. The Chinese symbol on the box is the symbol for “food.”
I think my design style tends to lean more towards a cartoon-feel. My favorite kind of art, whether it be music, paintings, movies, are the kinds that give me just enough reality to feel comfortable, but also give me something that I can’t experience in real life, and I like my designs to reflect that.
