#blessed is among the most popular hash tags used on social media. What exactly does it mean to be blessed? Well, according to Webster, being blessed can have religious connotations “honored in worship and enjoying the bliss of heaven” and secular meanings “enjoying happiness or bringing pleasure, contentment, and good fortune” and “held in reverence.” Our society is so blessed that the blessed hashtag is included in original posts an average of 19,000 times on a typical day on social media sites such as Twitter, Flickr, Tumblr, Facebook, Pinterest, Vimeo, YouTube, and Instagram.

Since September 2013, I have been graphically exploring the blessings of those on social media as well as my own. I’ve also been featuring work of other designers who are inspired by blessings. Why? Well, isn’t your day a little brighter when you reflect on your own blessings and those of the others? I know mine is.

Count Your Blessings, Name Them One By One.
